RDA, why should you become an RDAEF2… what new procedures may be coming to the RDAEF2 category?

EFDAA has recommended to the California Dental Board that two new procedures be added to the RDAEF2 category.

EFDAA provided testimony to support the addition of administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation to the RDAEF2 category!

To support this recommendation, EFDAA conducted a survey of working RDAEF2s to determine what procedures they are performing in their practice and if there is a need for an EF2 to administer local anesthesia.

Excerpts of the Survey reported…

39% of those RDAEF2s that responded to the survey answered:

42% of the RDAEF2s place composites all day.
75% are doing traditional cord packing /impressions and 71% of these patients require additional anesthesia either multiple times daily or almost every patient.
Does your dentist want you to be able to administer local anesthesia yourself? 53% responded YES

A 39% response to a survey is incredible, as the average response rate is generally between 12-18%.
